Role Summary:
The Dispatcher will act as a communication point for all calls: coordinate requests, transmit messages and track vehicles. This individual would enable different parties to communicate well by ensuring the accurate and timely transmission of information.
Role Priorities / Responsibilities:
- Ensure all route service drivers are working in/on pre-assigned routes/tasks each day
- Answer customer calls and dispatch drivers and equipment
- Create, manage, and continuously evaluate the efficiency of all portable toilet routes
- Document all calls
- Coordinate with supervisor to allocate, schedule, and assign jobs to the workforce
- Coordinate with the technicians, billable or non-billable ticket
- Assign the appropriate equipment and employees to corresponding jobs
- Enter data into computer system and keep dispatch records/logs and status reports
- Coordinate with billing personnel
- Address problems and requests by transmitting information or providing solutions
- Plans and organizes appropriate work time and resource requirements
- Use radio, phone or computer to send crews, vehicles or other field units to appropriate locations
- Monitor the route and status of field units to coordinate and prioritize their schedule
- Provide field units with information about orders, traffic, obstacles, and requirements
- Communicate as needed with yard personnel to prepare equipment for delivery / shipment & also pick-up / return
- Communicate as needed with trailer manager to prepare trailers for delivery / shipment & also pick-up / return
- Work with third party logistics providers as needed to ensure timely delivery and pick-up requirements are met
- Plan and coordinate all logistical requirements for special events and large equipment moves
- Help identify and work with third party service providers as needed to coordinate services in locations not currently covered by Stallion
- Understand and identify customer safety requirements of on-site personnel and communicate to Office Manager and Ops Manager
- Communicate all issues to Ops Manager in a timely and efficient manner
Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to prioritize calls according to urgency and importance
- Need to have experience and understanding of a routed service business
- Have a firm understanding of logistics, routes, and associated equipment
- Be able to calculate and maintain truck capacities
- Ability to remain calm and composed
- Must be able to multi-task
- Ability to take appropriate action with little supervision
- Results oriented and driven to complete customer jobs
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organization skills
- Proficient computer and telephone skills
